Bag Work Class Summary
Want a boxercise class with some actual grit to it and not just punching air? Want to try boxing but not sure if it's quite for you? Want to get fit but not up for getting hit? Then the Holistic Fitness, Bag Work Class is the answer.
This one hour weekly workout is a friendly, informal, non-contact class, concentrating on bag and pad work.
It includes punching and kicking drills, though for those doing boxing only, you may wish to substitute kicking techniques.
Class begins with a warm up and stretching exercises which help with core strength and flexibility, while the bag drills will improve your stamina and cardio-vascular health.
For those who attend our boxing or kickboxing classes, the bag work class is a good way to practise combinations and footwork techniques.
Beginners and newcomers to combat sports find this class particularly useful as it allows you to build strength and stamina without sparring, allowing you to concentrate on learning the techniques and better understand the basics of range and power.
This class is an ideal end-of-week wind down, with emphasis on having fun and potentially followed by a few beers after for those of you who want to undo any good work!
